Hard reset after sd card problem

A couple of months back I lost a load of holiday photos because my sd card failed. Now with a new card I am having problems getting music to download onto the new card. The phone doesn't see all the files. It is a brand new good quality card.
I am wondering if it is worthwhile doing a hard reset? All my files are on one drive.
Any recommendations?

I don't think you need a hard reset but reformatting the SD card may solve your issues. If it doesn't, then you probably just got a bad card. (Yeah, there is always one under 1000.)

Where did you purchase this card? A lot of cards sold on eBay are fakes.
