Hard time to decide between size M or S

I was at the same spot using the sizing guide, but found the medium didn't get tight enough. I'm wearing a small around the mid-point of the clasp.

I tried now to size my wrist with a paper + ruler. I get something like 165mm as size and that was so that the paper slip was pretty tight against my skin/wrist. So maybe the small would be better for me too as the band is little loose on the sides right?

They haven't shipped my band yet so I could propably still change it to small one

I found it quite interesting that the sizing guide on the ms-site is about wrist circumference, but the sizing guide on the box is about wrist height:

Small: 4.35 cm
Medium: 4.85 cm
Large: 5.35 cm

Just went to PC World who didn't have any, they said, "Well if it only came out yesterday then no one will have them in stock, you'll have to order it!" walked 20 yards to a Currys (which is the same company and increasingly the same stores) and they had several in stock but no way to try one on for size.

Went to Argos and explained that I needed to try one on and a nice girl got a medium from stock and opened the box very carefully for me to try.

I have a 17cm wrist approx 4cm high and the Medium fits very nicely.

The key thing here is that don't expect the strap to fit tight to the skin like a watch strap. Because of the battery, that can't happen. It's more loose than a watch but won't budge when tightened to the smallest setting.

d0m1 is right though, the height of your wrist is also important. So much so that the height measure is on the side of the actual packaging.

This whole sizing thing is something MS really need to sort out.

How in the world did you measure your wrist height? Having a hard time since it's round and I can actually see/feel my tendons. Think I'd say about 5 cm high, but the circumference said S-M, not M-L... difficult matter this!

@Podsnap: Still, in most stock images (I know, stock...) the Band seems to be skinthight, while d0m1's photo's (both) seems kinda loose. Doesn't it looks like your wearing a oversized bracelet like that?

I think it will be skin tight from the screen and from the clamp part. Because of the curved design that "sides" will not be against you skin or your wrist.

Of course if you have way too big band then it might just spin around your wrist.

Also about the wrist height. What's the best way to measure. With a quick measurement mine is just and just 4cm which would mean I should get the small version

Yeah, so in the stock images, I think you can be sure there is some nice Photoshop going on just to make it look really nice.

So inffy is right, the body is snug and the battery is snug but otherwise it's not tight all the way round, although it doesn't look or feel loose. Here are some (terrible) photos and also one of the same wrist with my watch as a comparison.

The thing that strikes me is that it's very light, doesn't feel remotely bulky or loose.

And despite having seen so many pictures, I'm still pleasantly surprised by how small it is, I really thought it would look overly clumsy and large on my relatively small wrists.

I got the Band 2 last Thursday I was wearing it on my right wrist as I have an apple watch and wear it on the left. I slept in it and it was so tight it made my wrist sore. Put it on my left wrist an it fit just fine. I did the measurement and it result was medium. I exchanged it for a medium which fits comfortably on my right wrist second to last notch. I just tried it on may right wrist on the last notch and it is too big. I will always have to wear it on my right wrist.

Thanks for this thread, I was in debate if I should exchange to small when they are back to stock, now I guess I am stick to medium now.
Even though I do wish they can design it differently, so make it unit-size like pebble . who knows if I will either shrink or grow in the future.

I'm really really confused now. With mine 4 cm height wrists I'm suddenly without question a small one? And those figures are from the Band 2 box?

Yeah it's a little messy.

My medium was just delivered. Will test and post soon with pics.

But I think I will have to switch to the small... Lets hope not

So here is the medium on my small wrist. Band at the tightest setting. It's not too tight but not too lose either so I think the medium was the good choice.

I have similar wrist measurement to the OP and got the small. I think a medium would have been too big

No, those figures are from Band 3 box.. :winktongue: jk they are indeed from the Band 2 box. Took a ruler for measurement. My advice: If in doubt try both sizes and see which one fits best. That of course is a bit difficult if you live outside the USA...

I'm far far way from the nearest live Microsoft Band :( But from inffy's images and if I recall correctly he was also 165 mm as I, it looks rather good with a medium. But then slysy says he/she also have same wrist measurement as I have and went for the small...

Well, looks like I take the medium and in worst case I just have to send it back or sell it, shouldn't be hard.

Pretty easy to return so you won't lose anything.

Small would propably had to be worn pretty tight and I like to keep it little bit loose. The medium won't move on my wrist on its own so this is fine.

@Inffy: you got like 165cm and 4cm height, right? Thats about the same as me (and Lennart), so I guess I should go for Medium as well. Looking good on your wrist, and I thnk it's better to have the band on the smallest click instead of the largest, so you don't seal the metal.

Unfortunately It's even hard for me to return a wrong size, as I should buy it at Amazon UK (living in the Netherlands, no Band available here). SO really want to make the good choice right away (which seems to be M).

Shouldn't be hard to even return to Amazon. Also I thin ms UK we store ships to Netherlands
