Windows Central Question

has anyone had the bsod with a loud fan noise while shutting down?

This is my second surface book in 2 weeks, I chose the i7 the second time around. After all of the firmware updates most of the software issues aside from IE edge and Chrome crashing seem to be corrected. The second day I've had the i7 I got the dreaded BSOD during shut down. It also made an extremely loud fan noise during the entire blue screen sequence that appeared to come from the tablet end. I'm still with in my exchange window and it has not happened again since. I know most signs point to hardware issues, but I'm afraid of exchanging for a SB that is much worst. I guess my question is, does any know if this will be fixed with update or should I exchange the darn thing?

Meh...that's typical and upto a certain extent to be expected. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it is happening often. The fan is there to keep things cool and happy, but when the cpu gets stuck executing code or goes in a haywire processing or cranking something out , it gets even warmer and when it is at a 100% CPU utilization, the fan can and sometimes get LOUD like the device will lift off any minute loud LOL. I would say look at your event logs for possible, but very unlikely any hardware issue.
