Deepak, not sure if you found your orange Lumia 830 yet. I was facing the same problem - wanted an orange panel. Online stores were selling it a premium of INR 7k (roughly US$ 100 more) over black. Back in April, a friend of mine working in MS helped me get what the Nokia priority dealer said one of the last white 830 available in New Delhi. I also bought an orange panel (INR 1,500) and my orange beauty was ready.
The phone is great and camera is amazing. I would suggest you to go for black if you cannot find white/orange anywhere else. I had also thought of the same as a back up. But I agree the metal frame looks better in white/orange.
Question to everyone: Why is 830 thought as overpriced, especially if it is available at around INR 21k (~ US$ 330) ?
Nevermind. I purchased an imported one. It's from Hong Kong and it is White. I also got an Orange colour back panel for ₹1949 + a 10% discount on eBay i.e. for ₹1754 from a top-rated seller. Another seller had listed the same for a little less amount but he had barely a few ratings. I'll get the phone and the back panel both by 14th May this week. I hope it would not be a defective piece once again :straight:
We say it is overpriced when it has a price tag of more than ₹25K (>$390). On
Snapdeal it is still available (all colours) but for more than ₹30K (>$470)!! :eck: That's toooo much! God knows if those sellers really have it in stock.
I had also ordered an orange one from Flipkart for a whopping ₹27K (I know that wasn't wise). But as I had expected the seller didn't have the phone and so my order was cancelled by Flipkart and as an apology, they refunded ₹500 to my Flipkart wallet. My case was exactly similar to what an article on Digit India had mentioned
here.
Buying an imported one, when you have no option left, is wise, may be. The only condition being you'll have to handle it carefully so that you'll never feel the need for a warranty
