Hi Guys/ WPcentral,

Any update on this.. will this affect all Lumia devices with WP8.1 DP installed?

is there any way to find whether my phone is Bitlocker enabled?

Thanks in Advance.

Do you work for a company that provided you with a mobile phone for use? And did they encrypt the phone? If not you wont be bothered by that issue lol

and I respond:
but, you still won't get cyan until MSFT issues
a fix for the issue going from DP 8.1 to cyan.
even if you DO NOT have bitlocker.
yes, all lumia devices on DP 8.1 are effected.

BTW. IMHO. there are TOO MANY posts on what amount to the same subject.
any way to merge them in to one group and sticky the thin?

Lol thanks Gabriel :P But I think the main issue here is that some users seem to think they are not getting the update, because they MIGHT have bitlocker lol So i'm only telling them that they shouldn't worry.. Wpcentral already did a piece on this so really they should be reading the news feeds as well

I'm a little confused then, because I wa sunder the impression that going from DP to 8.1 full wa sonly an issue if you had bitlocker.

Either way I DO have bitlocker so I'll have to either wait for whatever fix they're working on or rollback. The fact that they're suggesting rollback scares me and I'd prefer they pause ALL updating until it's addressed. What's to say there's not another issue that they haven't found that affects both verisons?

This is why I never buy anything on release day except video games.

I understand your apprehension, but I have been running 8.1 and now Cyan and this has not been an issue for me :)
It will only be an issue if you received the phone from the company you work for...
Most companies give their employees phones to use so they can access certain files stored on an encrypted server
and this is where bitlocker comes in.. Bitlocker is an encryption service..

They only recently stopped allowing 8.1 users to get Cyan. Check out today's Cyan release on ATT. No one with Dev Preview is getting it, only people in 8.0.

if you're running 8.1 and want to check if you have bitlocker the go to storage sense..
behind the amount of used space there should be "encrypted"..
but if you don't see that then chances are that you don't have it..
Also Cyan just gives you everything 8.1 has unless you have a 1520 or 930

Yes I know. My company implemented BitLocker a few years ago. I really hope that this fix addresses the issue in one update and not an "oops we broke something else" series of updates.

LMAO!!! Dying of laughter!!! "Oops we broke sth else series of updates" hahah it's funny because we have been down that road oh so many times..........................................
