Last windows phone i owned was the Nokia 920 and I very much liked it, this was before 8.1 came out though.

As long as Endomondo and Fitbit work as well as Android or Iphone, im happy to give this phone a go.

Anyone else come from Android in particular to the 930 got any comments, I do use google maps, gmail and calendar a fair amount will i miss this?

Personally, I came from an iPhone, but like you I was using the Google apps a lot. As for Calendar and Gmail, you can use them both natively on the built in Windows Phone apps. Unfortunately an official google maps app is not available but Here Maps is as good if not better.

Here maps is an ok alternative. Bluetooth connection to car doesn't always work due to lack of app updates. However we do have copilot which is the best navigation app atm imo (for car usage).

With google apps, you can easily transfer all your data to outlook which imo much better than google. Or you can use active sync account to access google data.

You might miss the stylus of Note 3 if you use it often.

Do it!!!

MS has all the services Google has. Email, mapping, cloud drive. But I understand changing those things is tough. I still get my gmail on my phone - no issue. HERE maps works great.

The phone build quality is awesome - feels good in the hand.

I think it is worth a try.

Btw, I have always had Nokia phones. My old tablet is Android - but I prefer phone and MS tablet more now.

If you have a note 3, then maybe you'll miss the size of the device. If you really like a 6inch display, then there is the 1520. I've got a Lumia 930 and 1520. I like both phones, but my personal favourite is the 1520 (I like the size and other small stuff like glance etc.)

The Lumia 930 is still a great device. It is the current flagship (probably till Autumn until Windows 10 pops along). It has the latest specs and has camera improvements from the denim update. It has the hey Cortana feature similar to that of Google now. The Lumia 930 is a great device :)

Like others have said, Microsoft do have alternatives that could work for you. IMO Outlook is better than Gmail and you can sync your mail. You used to have the 920, so probably would have met HERE Drive. Now you get free global navigation that is offline. I think here drive is a lot better than google maps.

I use both Android and WP. Keep your Note 3, grab a 930, and enjoy both. :)

Well I did the swap and am currently getting used to the 930, strangely even though its the same weight as the note 3, it feels lighter and better weighted, probably because its size is more manageable. love the screen, much better outside in direct sunlight than the note, always liked the live tiles and since owning a windows phone before, these have improved with some apps. Overall im enjoying and trying to get used to less google environment, alas some major issues just are giving me second thoughts, one of the most important things for me is my fitbit app, love it and the Note 3 would simply sync with my wrist band instantly without me even knowing, hardly any battery drain, but the Nokia cant even find the wrist band and I even had help from the Fitbit customer services, the only way I can get it to sync, is to use my Ipad mini to sync with the tracker wrist band and then I can get my windows phone to sync with the server, pretty poor app id say, as the bluetooth works fine for everything else. Also it maybe because im getting used to and trying different apps etc, but the battery life is pants compared to the note 3, my morning sit catching up with news, facebook, twitter and forums whilst having a cuppa, would reduce my battery by 5% on the note, but the exact same things this morning had the battery loose 25%...what, now i have arrived at work and the phone is already down to 70% charge, I will seriously miss the notes all day plus battery life, don't usually charger my devices till night time. hopefully the Fitbit app will be improved and the battery life might settle, otherwise this may be the shortest own of a phone I have ever had.

Battery life will improve after a couple of charge-discharge cycles.

Also, disable NFC if you don't need it as it's on by default.

Adjust your brightness levels for each setting (low, medium, high) as this can also improve battery life.

Start the Battery Saver app and disable the unnecessary apps that run in the background.
