Having Trouble Taking Screenshots

I often take screenshots to use in Twitter and Facebook posts. I've searched on how to do it and several posts say to hold the Start key on the bezel and the volume down key at the same time. But whenever I try to do that, it takes me to the home screen. I can take one with the pen, but that saves it to One Note, and I can't figure anyway to put that into a post. Any ideas?

To take a screenshot it's the volume up button and the start key. Not the bottom volume down

I found several links that say the following:

a) Touch and hold down on the Windows 8 logo on the Surface.
b) While doing that, press the volume down button once, then release

I tried what you said and it turns on a feature where it reads the text on the screen. That's pretty damn cool.
I was able to get the screenshot working. The timing has to be right. Volume down key pressed an instant before the start key.

It is Volume Down and Start Key/Windows Logo. If the person is having difficulties they are probably hitting and releasing the Windows/Start Key first and releasing too early. Volume Up and Start Key starts the narrator.

I suggest that you can hold the volume down button firstly, and then to press START key.
