HD 500 issue on my Alcatel Idol 4s

So I have an Alcatel Idol 4s that I am using with continuum, and the dock decided out of the blue to stop outputting sound from my tv. This causes videos to not etc. So I learned that I could update the display dock to possibly fix this....but I have no idea how to do that without the gadget app, which I can't install. Is there anyone who can help me either with a way of fixing the dock without the app?
