When i connect my Surface Pro 2 - using the original Microsoft adapter - with my Sony tv i get the video on its screen but no audio. Sound only from the Surface.
As far as i know is the displayport supposed to deliver both - audio and video. Anyone having this problem too? Does the length of the hdmi-cable matter as some people claim? Is it a driver issue?
Thanks for your help.

I used mine last week on my Surface 2 and at first I had the same problem and then out of nowhere the sound worked through the tv. I used it two days ago and it only came out of the Surface.

I don't have a Surface Pro 2 yet, but I think the problem/solution, is that you need to open the Sound panel settings, and change the sound output from the audio speaker of the Surface Pro 2, to HDMI/Digital Receiver. Try that.

If that fixes it for you, it's mostly due to Intel integrated graphics. Intel never been good at mastering multiple-display setups, whereas with Nvidia or AMD, it knows what you are trying to do, and set up things accordingly, which is nice.
