Hi guys, I know we have a lengthy thread on HRM accuracy, but I'm curious about sampling rate. According to MS there should be much more data (once per second for runs), but it doesn't look like that on my recent graphs. The exercise below was 17 minutes (don't judge, I was tired) but I only count about 38 data points. Worse: every second data point looks identical to the previous one.
Is this normal and have I just not looked at such a short section before, or is something wrong? Is it a display choice by MS, a display bug, or a data logging bug? GPS data seems much more dense, maybe once every 5 seconds looking at the track.
Edit: it looks like there's two things going on here. One: it looks like all graphs that people post show about one data point every 30s, so presumably that is some averaged version of the actual (dense) HRM data. So first comment: I would like a running average showing many more points.
And second, the strange horizontal sections probably indicate that HR sync is lost. Oddly, this seems to have started after a pause in the middle of a bike ride last week, see second graph that I posted earlier in the 'HR is inaccurate' thread. So I'm still thinking bug, or maybe broken HR sensor?
