Hi guys, I'm hoping I'll be able to get some advice here. Where I am in Singapore WP users are an extreme minority, and I've searched practically everywhere on the net for help on these issues.

So here goes.

After a recent update, these things have gone wrong on my 830 (Denim):
1) Photos app crashes after a few seconds. It gets better after a restart, but you can't be restarting your phone every now and then. Essentially I can't browse my photos nor share them.

2) Videos that used to play fine won't play (the ones like YouTube which play within the browser are fine). Just says "Sorry we can't play this file on your phone". I basically can't play any videos on my Facebook newsfeed.

3) Screenshots don't turn up after taking them (which is why I am not posting screenshots of my phone's specs etc)

Here's what I've tried doing so far:
1) Clearing out microSD card: Despite clearing out 2/3s of my card, the cleared photos still show up in Photos app. Anyhow, the app still crashes, and it's also impossible to send pic attachments on Whatsapp.

2) XBox Music: Some folks have said to disable subscriptions to fix the video playback issue. However there is no option like that in my Settings. Nor in the Videos app either.

3) Countless restarts and hard restarts.

Here's the info:
OS verison: 8.10.14219.341
Firmware revision number: 02040.00019.14484.24004
Hardware revision number: 1.0.0.0

Would really appreciate any help I can get here - it's absolutely frustrating to have your phone paralyzed like this.

Hey there, sorry to hear about your issues with your 830.
Im your neighbour from Malaysia (with all the spicy scandals).

Is your warranty still valid? If so perhaps you should try to get a replacement before your warranty lapses. Do note that, they will usually try to fix it first. If SG has a service center, i think you guys would do a better job than the one here.

If it has lapsed or you would like to try something else. Give hard reset a try (deletes all data, backup please) or better yet with the Lumia Software Recovery tool or Windows recovery tool (you need a pc with windows 7 preferably, use the original cable not the cheap ones). After that, see if its still the same.

Keep us posted and may it be sorted out ASAP. All the best 😊.

The choice of sd card can be the cause of these issues, I saw this on my 820. I solved everything by getting a Samsung class 10 card for my phone (they can be picky about cards from many manufacturers). If you move your content to the internal storage until you can get a new sd card I expect it will work fine (may need a factory reset).

He hasn't even got back to us after my suggestions. When you have a problem you look at your options not just send it. Ms will not cater to that, imagine all of us doing that.
No that's exactly what we ALL should do...MS takes it's sweet time to correct issues ( if at all) & like any corporate enterprise they only respond when we customers complain in great numbers...
