Help me understand flash/HTML5 and Safari/IE

Basically I want to know why I'm able to watch a more wide variety of embedded videos on my iPad compared to my Windows Phone. Don't both browsers use HTML5 and not have access to Flash? Why does Safari seem so much more functional? Is this a WebKit deal? Just curious!

If anything, IE is the more capable browser. You are just faced with terrible web developers that are not aware or do not test for the WP platform and do not send the right version of their site to Windows Phone.

As Ordeith said, IE is a lot better than safari just developers don't test on the windows phone platform.
