HELP!! Phone froze!!

Hey wp crew!! So i tried to update my 1.4 focus to mango and my phone is now froze with the samsung screen the only thing showing. It went through with the update and then did another update and then said the phone was resetting. The phone screen just showed the samsung screen and thats it. Tried the hard reset (took out the battery) and the master reset (held power, camera, and volume down buttons) and nothing. Its still frozen. Anyone got any ideas or am i just going to have to go to At&t tomorrow (considering i went tonight like 10 minutes after they closed and the three people in the store just looked at me and said they were closed). thinking very seriously about going to verizon and getting a iphone and saying screw it.

Sorry to hear that. Leave the battery out for a few minutes. Then try again.

Also, make sure your battery is fully charged and that you have some free storage for the backup and install. Try shutting off your computer, start it up, and then connecting your powered-down phone.

Good luck whichever way you go, but Vrzn won't open the door either.

theres a microsoft update troubleshooter as I recall from earlier mango and nodo updates. That should help you get it unfrozen and back up for a redo on the update. I will try and track it down and post in an edit here.

Well I took my focus back to att and after they tried to fix it (which related to the girl calling customer support cause she had no clue what to do and me talking with customer support), i am now waiting for a new phone (thank you warranty). Still don't know what really happened but at least i'm getting a phone. Does anybody know if i will get a new focus or referb and will i have to update it to Mango. Att said 5-6 days but during Thanksgiving week..yea right.

They normally send out refurbished phones, but it's pretty new so they may not have refurbished available, so then they would send you a new one. Let us know what you get.

Well i finally have a working phone again. took my frozen phone back to ATT the tuesday before Thanksgiving and found out it was froze. Warranty covered me broke one and sent me another one and got it this past Monday. But wouldn't you know it wouldn't charge. So i go back again and they overnight me another Focus. It's working great and loving Mango. But i'm getting the "I want Nokia" desires after seeing the pics of the Nokia900 (ACE). Love my Focus but if Nokia releases a high end Nokia, i may have to early upgrade. thanks everyone for the tips on fixing my phone. I love WP Central and probably spend way to much time reading all the cool stuff you guys talk about one here.

Glad to hear you finally got a working Focus. I am also waiting to see what Nokia brings to the U.S. marketplace next year.
