Am from India! And am simply in love with the Surface Book! I literally can't wait to have it in my hands! My friend is ready to bring me a Surface Book from the US during the last week of December. But I won't be able to return it if at all something goes wrong with this lovely piece of technology once it reaches India since it would be thousands of miles away from where I got it!!

I have seen so many posts about one issue after the other cropping up on the Surface Book. Some have been fixed while some issues still remain! I have a fairly good knowledge about software and so I can manage software issues by applying any kind of suggested fix/workaround without getting annoyed easily! Also, am hoping MS will fix all the issues ASAP!!

Having said all this, Is it really good for me to buy the Surface Book now?? Please help me out guys!

Given that you are in India and returning or swapping it would be difficult, I would wait and see if the problems get resolved. It would also be good if you could test it before having it brought to India. Not sure if it will eventually be released in India or not. I do really like mine, but I am exchanging my dock because the USB ports intermittently stop working.

Given that you said that you really love the Surface Book, I would counsel you not to hesitate. Yes, there have been a few teething problems and a few people have had more serious problems, but that is the case with all technology. My problems have been relatively small and the firmware updates and system software updates have really smoothed the book out. I'm very happy with mine and I bought it on the same basis that interests you - I love its unique features and I have bought into Microsoft's vision of interoperability across all systems: desktop, laptop and phone.

Just one point of view!

Yes, my friend can test it before he brings it to India. That can help right?

Personally, my experience has been mostly positive with the Surface Book. The display drivers do crash from time to time, but it doesn't bother me much. I know any issues I have will get fixed eventually.

I am also hoping that MS irons out the issues eventually. The device can reach me latest by December last week only. Which is almost a month later from now!! I will be very happy if some firmware update is rolled out in the mean time to resolve the issues. I am constantly checking the 'SB Update History Page' on Microsoft's website to see if any update is being made available!

Well, I'm going to go against what some have said here and suggest that you wait longer. I sincerely doubt MS will iron out all the issues by the end of December. The past couple of updates to Windows 10 have actually made my experience with my SB worse (more driver crashes, new types of crashes, daily issues of all kinds). Ask yourself: what will you do if an update or firmware upgrade causes a total hardware failure that only an exchange or repair can fix?

While I absolutely love my Surface Book and wouldn't dream of returning it, right about now I'm very glad I have a warranty to fall back on should my system completely fail. I just don't have that much faith in it yet, sadly.

Blah blah blah, get what you want when you want it. You can always mail it back to your friend for warranty exchange if it really comes to that. Enjoy without regret.

If you were a typical consumer, who needs a $1500+ computer to be reliable and just flat out work, the answer is absolutely no. However, you're in a tech forum, and sound a lot like you like shiny new gadgets to tinker with, so the answer is yes.
