Hi all,
I have a Nokia Lumia 610 and it was playing silly buggers so I've rebooted it and am setting it up again, trying to get all my contacts back. When I used it before, I simply set up my gmail account and when creating new contacts the phone gave me the option of saving them in my google account so that's where they all are. However, now after I've rebooted it when I set up my google account it only syncronises emails and doesn't give me the option to get my contacts. The user guide says "Once you have signed in successfully, your contacts are synced from Google account added to your Lumia." Obviously this is not happening. Can anyone help please?
Thank you.

If you go to settings and then mail and accounts and tap your google account, can't you choose what to sync there?

Ok, strange. Try to remove the account and add it again

Tried a couple of times. Didn't work. Tried going trough advanced setup as some site suggested but the phone wouldn't let me press 'Sign in' without Domain name which according to the same site was supposed to be left blank. Any suggestions? Could this be just Microsoft not agreeing with non Microsoft services? Windows Live and Outlook works perfectly fine with contacts, it's just Google (which happens to have all my contacts saved) that doesn't agree.

I also have the same problem. I saved some of my contacts with gmail while saving new contact in phone. I did backup also. Then I reset my phone and then restored everything, connected all my accounts. But I lost my contacts permanantly. I dont know how to get it back.
