Help with weird Battery Behavior?

Hey guys, i have a lumia 925 for about 9 months now it was updated to WinPhone 8.1 Cyan (the official one not the DP) and i had a good battery life.A couple of days ago the battery started acting weird, i charged it to 100% (like i always do) then i go to sleep, usually when i wake up (after 6-7 hours) it would be at 95-97% but now it is at 90% and when i use the phone i lose like 1% per minute (just going on facebook and reading RSS feeds on Nextgen Reader) and sometimes the battery indicator says the battery is at xx% and stays like that for 1 or 2 hours before it starts draining fast again. I have tried to recalibrate my battery, soft-reset and also charge it to 100% then do a soft reset but it is the same. I always charge it with the original wall charger that came with my phone and i also tried charging it from my PC, No difference.

BTW when i do a soft-reset that better drops 15-25%.

Any solution or explanation so what is happening will be appreciated. Thank you WPCentral Community.

Do you often use Viber,Messenger( FB),Whatsapp?? I had the same problem when i was using Viber for instance...my battery was draining 1% per min....i did then a Hard reset but the problem remains...after i uninstalled Viber my battery went back to normal... During night my battery was draining like yours on Wifi only turned on and data OFF...

Hmm, I will try that today and see if it will make a difference. Thnx for the response I will post back if it worked or not

Another simple thing you can try when your battery is erratic is to let it drain completely, until the phone turns itself off, the fully charge it, this recalibrates the battery and its indicated charge remaining. You did mention you have tried to recalibrate your battery so apologies if you have tried this already.

Another simple thing you can try when your battery is erratic is to let it drain completely, until the phone turns itself off, the fully charge it, this recalibrates the battery and its indicated charge remaining. You did mention you have tried to recalibrate your battery so apologies if you have tried this already.

Yes I have already tried that and it was the first thing I did because the day before all this started the battery was great and suddenly this happened. WEIRD LOL

Batteries can do weird things sometimes. How long do you now get from your battery? I get just over a day from mine with moderate use. Nextgen and Skype are my biggest battery drains although I do use them a fair bit.

Apologies for letting your post slip thru the cracks.

Had your exact same issue myself with my 925.
Tried all the usual tricks and even did a phone reset.

Sorry to say I deleted the WPC app rebooted and battery time returned to what I considered normal.
Now I'm back to staying at 100% at idle for 6 to 7 hours and seeing 16 hours of use with battery dropping to around 20%

I will uninstall WPCentral app now and I hope this fixes it because otherwise I think it could be the battery . But one thing that is telling it is not the battery is that this suddenly happened, it didn't degrade or anything, it just happened.

Windows phone says I will get a day and 8 hours, but when I use the phone the battery drains fast like 1% per minute.

So I have used the Nokia software recovery tool to re-flash my device on hopes of fixing the battery drain issue but it is still the same. Do you think that I have a faulty battery?? And if so, what happened that changed its behavior suddenly?

Unless you can pin it down to a particular app or process then its likely to be a faulty battery. As one poster said WP central app if allowed to run in the background can absolutely slaughter battery life. Back to the battery, if it is faulty the cause may never be known, it is unlikely to be anything you did to the phone though.

Try turning off location service also that may help a bit.

Quick update: After putting my phone on charge for 7 hours two days in a row, the battery seems to be back to normal. I don't know why but I hope it will remain like this. Thank you all...
