Hey All

Well I thought we could use a thread were we could put useful and helpful information in one place!

So this can be a link, piece of code, advice anything that will benefits others!

There's also Metro Studio, which is another great database of metro icons, and you can create your own! Lots of flexibility within the program, and it looks nice too. Also, all of the icons are free, and you can do whatever you want with them!

Personally, a decent photo manipulation program (GIMP, Paint.net, etc.) and Metro Studio are good enough tools alone to create icons of almost any icon required...

Some books I have used for WP development

Essential Windows Phone 8 (by Shawn Wildermuth)
101 Windows Phone 7 Apps (by Adam Nathan)

Here' a list of stuff that sure did give me a nice boost :)!

If you are about to start these should be viewed in this order:
C# Fundamentals: Development for Absolute Beginners | Channel 9
Windows Phone 8 Development for Absolute Beginners | Channel 9 (mentioned above but deserves another one :) )
Windows Phone 8.1 Development for Absolute Beginners | Channel 9

This is also good but have only watched few, if you need guide on some areas of coding just pick the episode which has it covered:
Building Apps for Windows Phone 8 Jump Start | Channel 9

Another good place for how to's/guides and examples is nokia resources/wiki! Plenty of friendly folks around:
Lumia | Nokia Developer
Resources | Nokia Developer

And if you want to beta test your app, and I'm sure you do, you can use this service to find new beta testers as well as easily manage your beta testing process.
