Hotmail and Gmail don't work well with each other?

I have many friends who use Android and naturally when it comes to sharing documents we use mail. But I have noticed that whenever my friends (Gmail) send an email to my hotmail account, I never receive it whereas if they send it on my Gmail account I immediately get it. This makes me frustrated.

I have a lot of friends on android as well as IOS that send documents to my Outlook all the time. Never missed one.

Using OneDrive or whatever Google's calling their cloud thingy this week (until they shut it down) would be a more collaborative, efficient way of sharing documents. Mailing them as attachments is very 90's.
That said, there could be many reasons for your mate's mails not working. My first thought is user error on the sender's part. But I'm grumpy today.

I have friends who use Gmail and send attachments to me to my Outlook.com address. I've never had any issues viewing the attachments. They don't have any issues viewing attachments I send them either.

The simple and old solution is to check in your spam folder.
