WPCentral Question

my microsoft account keeps giving error "not up to date " "your password has expired" i tried changing the password but nothing happned

Ok I just solve this problem...
1- Go to setting your date and time uncheck set automatically
2- Set your time and date and time zone manually
And then tell me what happens
Enjoy

When I put this in, it changes to bay405-m and I just get a Microsoft error (error code: 0) saying that it can't connect (different to when I try to put in a different server url such as pod#####.outlook.com where it gives me the 'wrong password' error) :\ Any thoughts?

Unfortunately i am having the same problem. If anyone find a solution to this, please let me know. :)

i just found out that if you change the server name to just: m.hotmail.com it should work :) . it seemed to work for me

I don't know if it's the same problem, but the other day I couldn't connect to Hotmail from my phone either. I had to use a browser to login to the account where I was prompted to accept a new user agreement, and then it worked. The agreement is quite an interesting read if you have the patience to read all 25 million pages. I didn't realize they assign a unique ID to every voice, but it's only for analytics they say. Hmm. There's also some interesting passages on your cloud content. You own it and control it, kind of.

Change it back, I just changed the sync frequency to something other than what was selected and the error code 0 went away

Had my Lumia 640 (running 8.1 (8.10.15148)) for two days now when same as i previously experienced with my old Lumia 520 this 85050003 error stopped my Microsoft Account from syncing.

Setting the server to bay-m.hotmail.com, while never having turned on two step security and setting date&time to manual fixed the problem in minutes. But it automatically reset the server to dub407-m.hotmail.com afterwards, while still working. I hope the problem doesn't return due to this.

On my old 520 I evaded the problem by adding the same account again, making the phone work just fine for everything from the store to email apps etc. since i never managed to completely fix the problem a couple of years ago.

Cheers!
