^ I think so too, but IMHO "apps corner" is preferable to an "apps locker" app. The later is preferable only when someone wants to protect but one or two rarely used apps. That just really isn't good enough if you're lending your phone to others. The only people for whom that approach works, are teenagers hoping to protect their porn collections from their technically illiterate parents.
As soon as we expect to protect multiple apps, particularly if those are regularly used apps, an apps locker gets either unbearable (due to constant unlocking) or useless (due to not locking stuff that should be, in an effort to make it less annoying).
In such scenarios "apps corner" is easier and faster, as it reverses the protection process. Instead of unlocking each app individually, we just unlock the device (which everyone should be using either way), and get the unnerving password protection out of the way in one single step. Only in those situations when we give our phone to someone else, are we required to go through an extra three clicks (accessible from the start screen) to launch apps corner first.
IMHO that's simply the better approach, but few are aware of that feature. Most people just know how it works on Android and end up looking for something similar. To a degree MS also deserves some blame, as the name "apps corner" doesn't give you any hint at all, as to what it might actually be good for.
