How can I easily add contact information once I received a phone call?

Once I received a call I have the number in the history display of the phone app.
However obvious it might be, I can't figure out how to add the contact information without writing the number down and then go to the People app.
It should be much easier. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

If you're using WP 8.1 go into the call history like you are doing. Then click the icon beside the number that looks like a circle with a person in it and some lines to the side of the person. This should bring you to a new screen titled 'Unknown Contact'. Click the save button on the bottom menu and you will be greeted the option to add the number to an existing contact by selecting them from a list or to create a new contact by clicking the '+' icon at the bottom of the screen.
