How can I fix a glitch in my mouse that has occurred since the Windows 10 upgrade

My mouse has this crazy glitch since upgrading to Windows 10. I'll be scrolling and it'll stop all of a sudden and freeze for about three seconds. How can I fix this?

Use the keyboard up/down to scroll. Does it still freeze? What type of connection to the mouse?
