How can I get the Firmware Update?

Firmware Updating

Hello,
I now have a Lumia 950 XL and on the Fast Lane for Insider builds but noticed when I plug the phone into the laptop the windows recovery tool says the firmware is not up to date but looks like I would have to reset back to the non insider build to do this/

Is there no other way to get the firmware update as I have checked for updates on the phone and says there are none?

You could try switching to the 'Production' ring in the Insider app and check for updates.
If none are found then you will need to use the 'Windows Device Recovery Tool' to get the latest firmware.

If you're on the original 10586.0 build you will not get the updates. The ONLY way out is to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool (make sure you have version 3.3.1). This will get you to 10586.107 and now you can go on the Fast Ring and get Redstone (currently 14332.1001).

or try the lumia phone test application 6.1.38 which showed me after todays update that my os is outdated now its downloading/installing its amazing
