How can I get the wifi at home working?

my wifi at home is not working.

i have tried shutting down my phone three times. this has happened before, but shutting it down always works. any ideas for how to get it working again? Oh, and whenever i try connecting, it says your phone can't connect to the server...

Does your modem have a battery in it? My girlfriend has cable internet and phone and when you reset it it have to remove the battery to reset the modem. The router resets fine but moden supplied by the provider doens't turn off when you turn off power to the power strip.
