How can I reinstall the firmware on HTC 8S?

My phone is getting stuck on the blue screen with a . I tried a hard reset but it just goes on airplane mode and I cannot remove it. Then I try to restart it and it gives me the blue screen again.

What can I do? Is there some way I can flush the firmware and reinstall it again? Thanks

The HTC 8X (I know yours is an 8S) now works with the Windows device recovery tool, so you may want to check that out.

The tool only tells me to press the volume up and down button when swirching off and when I do so I think it tries to do something but it boots in airplane mode again :/ Is there no tool to reinstall it directly from my laptop?

So you are holding vol up, vol down and holding power until the device vibrates.
It should then enter bootloader mode where you can retry the Windows Device Recovery Tool.
I am not aware of any other methods.

Also you need to hold volume, power and camera button.
