How can i set default app to open specific files, like an mp3?

When browse through files and click to open an mp3 file this horrible unknown app called "music backstop" opens which doesnt let me scfoll through the song and also stops playback when screen goes off.

You cannot.
"Music Backstop" is what's left of the old WP8.0 Music+Videos hub and is hidden for the most part and is part of the OS. But it can be uncovered through opening an mp3 from a file manager. I actually use it as my main music player, using Music Hub Tile to access it.

You'll have to hold the RW/FF buttons in order to seek.
