"How China just helped Microsoft in a big way"

Interesting! I'm curious to see what new OEMs will come on board and make Windows Phones.

Bottom line, I think OEM's will make what the market will buy. Right now, that's Droid. Hopefully, MS's current momentum will continue and they will inspire people to look at WP more. This will take some time though.

While I don't think that Microsoft would be able to collect royalties on the more obscure OEMs out there, this is going to be a trump card that Microsoft has to take advantage of. With Windows Phone being effectively free now, according to some rumors out there, and it running on cheap hardware very well, it is techincally cheaper to produce a Windows Phone than a phone running Android. There may be other factors, but that is the case from my reasoning.

I'm just hoping that this paves the way somehow to better phone quality.
