How comfortable is it to sleep with the MS Band?

One of the features about the band is sleep tracking and I assume you have to wear it for it to work

How does it feel sleeping with it on your wrist? Comfortable or irritating but you get used it or you just stop using it after it gets too irritating? And does it move a lot? It has to stay in one position, right?

I don't have one nor am I ever going to get one (something to do with the high price and exclusive nature of it being in a few countries only) so I am hoping those with experience can share

Thank you

It depends on your sleeping habits. If you like to stick your hands under your pillow or head or something, it can be annoying. Otherwise you just get used to it. It can move around a bit but it shouldn't be very loose, otherwise your heart rate might not be monitored properly.

I have no issues sleeping with it. None. But I have a Band2
The only think i notice is I might notice the green light on the back when I go to the washroom...

Band 1 never bothered me sleeping, same with Band 2. Like Intrance pointed out, if you like to stick your hand under your pillow, it can require some repositioning. But once I get to sleep, it takes a lot more than that to wake me up! I wear both my F3 HR and the Band and set the alarm for both since I've been known to sleep right through the Band's alarm.

No problems at all. One you get in a routine with it. I now exclusively use the band as my alarm clock as well and it is great.

I found the material in band 1 to be annoyingly sticky so it clings to the sheets and what not. Band2 is much better and doesn't grab at sheets when you're moving.

Otherwise I wear it each night. I use it as a pre alarm in hopes it wakes me before my 950xl does, and subsequently my wife!

I still have a Band 1, generally considered the less comfortable of the two. The only minor issue I remember is that depending on how I wore it, the green HR sensor light could be noticable. Pressing on the Band on the side opposite of the sensor can create a gap allowoing light to escape. So you may want to position the band to minimize that issue. I also switch the Band to the other arm at night so I don't get sore spots from wearing it 22/7.

I never use it to track my sleep but I sleep with it on just about ever night. Once u wear it a few days u don't even realize it's on.

The Band 2 is super comfortable and I really like wearing it. A couple weeks ago my Band suffered the well-documented battery issue and died. It was a few days before I was able to get to the store for a replacement. The first night I didn't wear my Band to bed because it was dead and it would serve no purpose. But, after an hour of tossing and turning, I got up to bit on my Band because I was so used to it that I couldn't sleep without it!

I don't have a problem with mine. I thought I would because I put my left hand under my pillow, but after 2 or 3 nights I don't even notice it. Sometimes I swap it to my right wrist overnight because my left has got a little itchy or uncomfortable during the day, but that is it.

I had to swap my band 2 in last night as the strap had split, and they couldn't get me a new one in medium until this morning. Sleeping without it last night was more strange!

The only minor issue I remember is that depending on how I wore it, the green HR sensor light could be noticable.

This was a much bigger issue for me with the Band 1 because the HR sensor was on the back of my wrist. The physical comfort level never bothered me, but did improve on the Band 2; however, there were a few times with the Band 1 where I rested my hands across my chest and was awoken by a blinding green light because of the gap caused by resting my hand this way.

I used it continuously for 6 months or so. I was able to determine and correlate good night sleep with certain pattern (e.g., drinking, eating times, activities before sleep, daily exercise and so on...).

It was uncomfortable on my wrist and now that I know what most likely determines a good night of sleep versus not, have not worn it since for sleep monitoring. I suppose I knew all along that if I ate too late or drank more than I should have, it results in a poor rest overnight - didn't need Band to tell me that. But I did find out my resting HR during the sleep and periods/quantity of deep versus shallow sleep. That's what I was able to correlate with (based on what took place during the day). Nothing scientific but more heuristic recall of what had happened the day before.

Now, if I have a crapy night of sleep, I can make up for it the next night by doing (or not doing) certain things. Its just more insight into my own sleep.

Have both gen 1&2, 2 is in for repairs/swap, only shows charging icon and a blinking pixel in bottom left corner after an OTA update. Never experienced problems sleeping with both. The rubber type material on gen 1 wore off after some time but that's been fixed in gen 2. If you do decide to take the jump and buy one make sure you get the right size, the charts they have are pretty accurate. I was lucky enough to be on holiday and go into a store to try one on ( no stores in my country, have relatives that took it back for repairs).
