How did you get W10 to download the updates?

Hi! Thought I would start a poll on how you installed the Windows 10 updates! This will help me help others!. If you check other; please explain in detail the best you can, how you got the updates to install! I'm going to try to make this a poll.

Automatic update, one month before free upgrade ended. After update I made a clean install to start from fresh. No problems so far.

I used the media creation tool for two reasons: i) I didn't want to wait for automatic updates to find the upgrade, and ii) I knew I was going to do a clean install after the in-place upgrade.
