[How do I...?] Add App to Pinned Contact

I have pinned a link to a contact on my start screen. At the moment, when I open that contact from the start screen, only Call and Text are available. I've been trying to link Telegram Messenger Beta to the contact but haven't succeeded. Can anybody offer any guidance?

Does Telegram sync with the people app? If it doesn't, you can't do this, however you may be able to pin the contact from telegram.

Please excuse my ignorance, but how do I find out?

OK, found out how to sync with the People app. Turned it on, and the L735 had its first crash! After a restart it sort of works, but not quite in the way I'd seen in some MSFT promos on YouTube.

Learning more about WP8.1 every day, and loving it more.
