how to download apps directly on external memory card on WP

I read in WP Central sometimes back that it is possible to load Apps directly on external microsd cards on win 8.1 phones. I had win 7.8 till then so ignored. Now will have Lumia 730. So please help. Some beta site was mentioned.

select settings
find storage sense in the list and select it
scroll to the bottom and
then select one of the four, or all four to save to SD card automatically. (I selected all 4 to got SD card - I only keep Nokia maps on the Phone)

go into settings > storage sense (I believe)
OR
go to the app Storage Sense

there are settings that let you choose the default location of things. One of those can set your phone to put apps on the card.

Thank you very much. Shall revert if my try fails! This has relived me a lot because my Samsung Omnia W , though an excellent one, had this limitation of 8GB memory only and no expansion slot.

Also you can manually install from an SD card as well. If browsing the windowsphone store via a desktop you can download the files to your desktop and move them to your SD card.

how would I download to desktop? I see no option to do so.

It should be at the very bottom of the page in the store. Its labeled: "Download and install manually".

You will need to be logged on of course same as if you were doing normal install.

Use UC Browser to maually download app to SD card.
Make sure you enable speed mode or else it will direct you to Store on your phone.
Open the app page you want to download and at the bottom of the page you will see download and install manually. Click on it and you are ready to download the app
