how do i fix my apps?

i have the nokia Lumia 520, every time I load an app it says I have a connection problem? why is this and how do I fix it?

Is it all apps or just certain ones?

Sometimes free apps won't let you use them without an internet connection to show ads... Although I've never seen an app do this or even tried to run one without internet to find out.
