how do i fix the settings on my laptop mic

i was in a Skype call and i yelled and shortly after it was like no one could hear me. a short time later i found that they could hear me only it was though i was seeking in a whisper even though i was shouting. i tried to mess with the settings in my control panel but everything seemed normal. i have encountered this problem before and i simply clicked around till the problem seemingly fixed itself.

try to restart your device and then check again
You can also control mic volume in the sound settings in control panel
