how do I get Windows 8.1 sync?

I have tried and failed. I was told to sign on to Microsoft account but I do not remember signing on already. I was asked for my password. I tried "I forgot my password" and nothing happened. HELP

check the email account that you used to create the Microsoft account.
the forgotten password link will have been sent to that account.
