How to hard reset lumia 520 when battery is low?

I have a lumia 520. I want to hard reset it but it's battery is low. I want to reset it because whenever it turns on there is a blue screen with a sad face.
It is running windows phone 8.1.

I'm not sure of the hard reset procedure on the Win Mobile devices, BUT I would advise you to plug it in and get it charging before you do it. You probably don't want to have it die in the middle of it!

Download windows device recovery tool, itll completely reinstall the OS. And definitely follow pkcable's advice first.
