How do I remove the email icon from the start screen?

How to remove email icon from start screen?

I have a Lumia 950xl. My phone is showing me the email icon on the lock screen indicating that I have an unread email. I have read and deleted that email. But the icon is still showing up on the lock screen. Is anyone else having a problem and is there any way to get rid of it?

You need to unpin the tile and pin it back again. Hopefully this will sort it out.

Also do you have more than one account added to your phone?

Your title says Start screen, but your post says Lock screen. If you did mean Lock screen, go to Settings, Personalization, Lock screen, Choose apps to show quick status, select the email app and choose none.
