how do i reset my phone without using the recovery key

my phone says to enter a recovery ket to reset the phone and I'm not sure what the recovery key is because i just found the phone

could you explain by what you meant when you said you just found the phone? A reset key is usually asked when the phone has been locked due to incorrect pin entries or if it is stolen

If somebody bothered to setup reset protection, they are probably looking for it.

If it was me, I would check what brand of sim card is in it, then take it to the nearest location of that company. They could probably contact the owner who would appreciate your honesty.

Finders keepers and all that, but only the original owner can get the reset key.

Hand the phone in to the local Police station.

One day someone could post in this forum - I found a lumia 1020 with a lock saying call Chintan and I will jump out of the building :winktongue:
