How do I select text in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 Mobile?

Tapping on a word to select it works on some web pages, but not all.
1. Why is this?
2. Are there any alternative ways to select text?
I'm running Windows 10 Mobile version 1511, build 10586.420.

long press? Or double tap on a word. Sometimes it might not be actial word but a link or graphic
