How do I stop Windows 10 phone from installing on Windows Phone 8.1

How do I do this?

If windows 10 phone is halted from being downloaded does this mean that no other updates can be installed for Windows phone 8.1?

Therefore, is there a way to block the Windows 10 phone update and allow for more Windows 8.1 updates?

Hi, the only way to clear the pending Windows 10 mobile updated is a hard reset.
Just out of interest, what WP 8.1 updates are you expecting?

Your post is slightly confusing but I'll give it a shot.

You will only get Windows 10 Mobile if you are one of these phones - https://forums.windowscentral.com/e...Fen-gb%2Fmobile%2Fwindows10%2F&token=xGrGa2UW

Any other phone will be using the Insider program which means you can revert to Windows Phone 8.1 any time using the recovery tool.

With regards to updates, I'm not sure if you're referring to app updates or OS updates. If it's OS updates, Window Phone 8.1 will no longer receive updates.

Apps will update so long as the devs are still supporting Windows Phone 8.1. I'm sure there is some variance in code between WP8.1 and W10M so I expect that WP8.1 apps will eventually be converted to W10M apps. Apps that you have on WP8.1 will probably no longer be updated at that point.

Hi N La Rue, thanks you answered my questions. Looks like I'll need the windows recovery tool to revert back to 8.1.

I installed Windows 10 and cannot use Here Drive and VPN or Eduroam do not work on Windows 10 where I am so am reverting back.
