How do I turn Visual Voicemail off?

Is there a way to have both the voicemail icon and visual voicemail and how to you turn visual voicemail off?

Can't have an icon on the screen. Just tried it on my ATT 635.
To turn visual voicemail off just go to settings and slide the button to "off". Hope this helped.
