How I Stumbled Upon an amazing performance from WP10M!!

I began by hard resetting my original att lumia 1020 us on 8.1. Then I used the new Windows Mobile Desktop Recovery tool to make sure firmware was full denim and it was. Then hard reset. Installed Insider and got slow ring. some how got lucky and went to Denim GDR 2 performance was insanely amazing best ever, although battery drained rapidly at times. Then I hard reset no restore. got build 10166. Then I updated all lumia apps and then changed insider to fast and got build 10512. Let me say performance was aaaamazing, on par and crisper larger graphics then 8.1, and the numbers from my phone app were equal to denim gdr2. But even after all this no lumia apps? So I hard reset on build 10512. Boom all lumia apps and 8.1 apps ready to go. Yes. Not Yet? performance was horrid? SO hard reset and luckily I had saved a backup of my first build 10512 and its performance and what did before my wondering eyes had appeared all lumia apps and performance numbers on par with 8.1, and 8.1 apps working fine, and all new 10 experience and custom thingys lol!! If I'm not forced to I want this awesomeness forever!!

Didn't work me on the 1520. Did a recovery to 8.1 and updated to 10166. Super smooth and stable. Then updated to 10512 and utter crap, lag, freezes, and resuming.

Turn Battery Saver on and see if it helps.

After you upgraded to 10166 did you hard reset before upgrading to 10512? Because I did.

How many cups of hard reset did you put in that recipe?

And what is the screenshot all about? why are you showing us your computer and mobile, we can't see the performance?

oh so lumia camera doesn't count? Its clearly in the top right corner on my original pic, but heres a few pics of all lumia apps, plus performance numbers against other lumias running 8.1,the green box that says your phone yeah the signifies my phone results.

So many people seem to try so hard, for what just seems to work fine for most people. 1520.3 has always worked wonders since taking it out of the box and doing updates.

Personally I would give up on trying to hope for the old 1020 to be a performer, camera only device at this point.

The point is, no matter how many hard resets you do, the only one that will count is the last one.

so just upgrade to what ever you want and do a hard reset. this is not a chemical reaction...

and i would say based on personal experience, hard resetting 10512 will get you really good results.

I also just did a hard reset on my 735 and they are installed so I guess that's the default behaviour.

Yep, same thing with the girl last night. I told her "I just need 7 hard resets baby". Unfortunately she isn't a windows mobile user so she didn't believe me.

Personally I would give up on trying to hope for the old 1020 to be a performer, camera only device at this point.

A 1020 that was kept on WP 8 would be awesome, I'm going to try and find one, and never update it.
