How is the heat with the new i5 version?

I am considering purchasing a new Surface and am curious if the new, fanless i5 has enough cooling power to handle the processor under load. How is the cooling on the new model?

The new i5 handles the load and cools fine. Based on the article on this subject posted here, the i5 runs cooler than the i7 and didn't have any throttling issues. https://www.windowscentral.com/surface-pro-2017-core-i5-review

That is not to say that it doesn't get warm sometimes, but I've never found that it got uncomfortably warm. In my short time with a SP4, I felt that it got hotter.

My i5, 8GB, 256GB runs fine. I run AutoCAD 2017 and CorelDRAW 2017 with no issues. I don't really have a need to run anything more intense than those two programs. It gets warm at times, but thats it. I haven't experienced anything I would call hot and have any concerns with.
