Windows Central Question

I was trying to download an app onto my Lumia phone which asked for personal information including date of birthday. Instead of scrolling back, 2015 was selected as my year of birth and now Windows is convinced that I'm a child!

It now insists that I prove otherwise by entering Credit Card details. This is both intrusive and not possible as I don't have a credit card. If I had I would be reluctant after JP Morgan, Sony, TalkTalk, etc hacks.

How can I get control of my system back or persuade Microsoft that I'm more than 10 months old?

Is this a brand new phone?

As it sounds like it has asked you to create a Microsoft account to access and download from the store.

You can try logging into the website (www.outlook.com) and check if you can change your personal details there.

Also I would recommend joining & dropping by the introductions section here: Introductions - Windows Central Forums

There are plenty of us here that are more than happy to help with your questions etc.
