How to edit forum posts (edit icon is greyed out)?

I'm trying to figure out how to edit my posts and noticed that the edit icon is greyed out.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If it is the first post of a thread, you cannot delete it. Report such along with the reason you want it deleted and a Moderator will help.

Or a Marketplace post. Those can't be user deleted either.
