How to play blue-ray movies on windows 10?

I have a blue-ray drive and windows 10.

Is there an app in the windows store or available that will allow me to play my blue-ray movies on my PC?

I know there is VLC but as far as I can tell, it cannot play commercial Blue-ray discs

VideoLAN's VLC desktop software, an open-source (read: free to use) media player that includes support for DVD media. (Note that I don't recommend the VLC app in the Windows Store, which is a separate version that does not support DVD playback.)

Well default video player of Windows 10 can play m2ts format. it does a good work doing that, but it can't select subtitles or anything yet.

But I would suggest using (if you don't want a win32 bluray player) Potplayer, it has the button on the menu to open bluray, which is used when you mount an iso or put it on the tray.
and you can also play the mpls files if you had them on your disk.

It's not the best implementation since it doesn't have menus like on DVD implementation, but you can use all the menu options on potplayer itself. like choose the subtitles with L or by right clicking, also chapter support and stuff like that with the key H.

potplayer has support for Xbox controller and touch gestures and all if you have that. you can configure it the way you want and all. also you can use whatever filter you want like LAV ones. it's free and more open than VLC,
so it's an amazing player, light and easy to use.

I tested this bluray https://durian.blender.org/news/sintel-blu-ray-iso-download/ just in case, I downloaded the ISO because it was the only legal and not big sized bluray i found on web and PotPlayer worked fine.

Winxdvd offers a few blu ray player with limited function. PowerDVD 14 is a nice commercial one.

I tried the PowerDVD Trial. So far, it seems to be the only one that works correctly with pretty much every movie format and can even handle the extended features on some Blu-ray Movies as well as BD Live which pulls down features over the web. It is a steep price even with their Black Friday special. I tried a bunch of free ones but none of them buffer correctly and all the others stutter. This is the only one I have tried that does not stutter during play back. Also, they are not kidding when they boast about their CPU loading being low. I tried some others that would pin my CPU to 100%.

VLC rocks provided it is not Blu-ray.

The others I tried from the suggestions while they worked, they did not do so in the way that I wanted. I will bite the bullet and purchase PowerDVD.

Thanks for the question NutmegState. I was actually wondering the same thing.

So it looks like there are a couple options. I personally have VLC already installed but never tried Blu-ray with it. So its nice to know i don't have to change anything

1) VLC 2.0 or later.
2) Potplayer
3) Cyberlink PowerDVD

You can play Blu-ray on Windows 10 with VLC by ripping Blu-ray into MKV format with MakeMKV.
