Like the title says. Is it possible? Now it is getting annoying.
Or those adds come from WC?

I figure if we can removed it from a computer we could also remove it from the phone. Just need someone in the know how to process.

Unfortunately, unless you can root a device, and install ad blocking apps, or you can get ABP and change the ports etc, you can't, unless you support the devs and buy the app.

Edge can't have ad blocks (yet) because it doesn't have the facility for extensions. Chrome on the other hand, does, and seems to actively promote ad block or ad block plus. They even have an ad block browser listed in store.

There is no rooting of Windows Phones. That's an Android thing.

One of the countless and useless limitations of WP and WindowsRT - pretty ********.
You can only block the ads on WiFi when you running a router that is capable of adblocking - either by a DNS blacklist (DNSBL) or using a proxy like squid(guard) to filter the content. Pfsense can do both and does a great job here. Tho I doubt most people can set it up. A cheaper solution is the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite. Their forums provide HowTo's for setting uo DNSBL with automatic updates.

set the data saving thing to high, when using cellular data it will block ads but also degrade image quality, on wifi you can set your router to deny ads too

aand... https://adblockplus.org/en/edge this is a cute possibility I'm hoping to be true, edge is supposed to be universal right? so it seems ABP is already coding a solution for edge on pc even though there is no plugin support until 2016 so it means they are implementing it like it is today on IE, maybe it can be ported to ARM and run on w10m with little effort? that surely is a very, very long shot... but its the best we've got

I always rooted android, but it doesn't bother me too much now on WM, most are just small banner ads, with one or two full screen in apps.

I have decided that it is a small price to pay for devs to support WM.

The OP mentioned that he is getting ads popping up when using the Windows Central website.
Does anyone else get this?
The OP has it on W10M with Edge browser, myself I have it on WP8.1 with IE browser.
For me it has started happening over the last couple of weeks.
It only appears to be on the Windows Central website.

Why not try the app. If OP on 10 M, then that's the way to go. I run the app and ads are unobtrusive

What app are you running?
Yes 10 M on my Lumia 830.
Also I believe Microsoft are pushing some too

This is how I'm dealing with ads at home, running on a Linksys WRT1900AC Router (with OpenWrt CC Firmware)
With OpenWrt on the router: I install Privoxy. That way, anything connecting to the WiFi at home gets filtered by Privoxy
I notice lots of ads on Youtube at Work on my free Wifi (yes it's three times faster, but....) at home without ads you only have to download what YOU NEED!
I'm trying to get Squid Proxy to work with Privoxy, but... thats taking a little more thinking and head scratching.
I'll get it done!

lol. Even Firefox OS browser can install an adblock extension (uBlock, adblockEdge, ABP, etc).
Seriously now, how much longer should Microsoft expect customers to wait?? Bad enough Edge is slow to load ads, especially the ones on WindowsCentral
