I want to set a custom ringtone. I have some mp3's on my Tilt. I followed these instructions from my phone's manual....

Set an MP3 song as your ringtone
1. Copy the MP3 music file to the My Documents folder on your phone.
2. Tap Start > Settings > Phone.
3. In the Ring type list, select the MP3 song as your ringtone.

I did exactly that and the ringtones are not in my Ring type list. I went to File Explorer to make sure the mp3 was there and it is.

I'm using WM 6.1. I even copied the mp3 to my device> windows>rings, which is where my preinstalled ringtones are located. It still doesn't show up in my phone settings ringtone list. I even tried to hold the ok button down on the mp3 and set it as my ringtone. The pop up came up and said it's now my ringtone but it isn't.

This is my 3rd day trying to set this up. I had no idea it would be so difficult to add a ringtone to the Tilt.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Are you putting in your ringtones folder in the documents folder or just throwing it in documents?
From your post it doesn't say you put it in the ringtones folder?
If so it should be there....maybe do a soft reset.....
