How to set reminders to sound until they are acknowledged?

I frequently miss reminders because they only ring once on my Win7 Samsung Focus - how can I change this unhelpful behaviour?
I am NOT referring to the snooze function but rather to those awful situations when the first time I am aware of a reminder having been triggered is when I look at my phone after the event because I didn't hear the one reminder! If it could be set so that they repeast at increasing intervals (as they did in WinMob 6.5 - but TOO frequently!) that would solve the problem.

I don't think you can do it I'm afraid - one shot, and that's all you get.

An alarm will sound repeatedly. But a reminder only rings once.

Even an alarm stops after 5 or so minutes.
