How to stop people's faces popping up on my people tile on Nokia Lumia?

best solution you have probably is to resize the tile to be the smallest size.

or somehow delete everyone's contact picture

I found this annoying, so I don't have the People tile on my start screen.

One trick to eliminate faces from the people app is to replace their pic with a white or black .jpeg or .png file.
I just made one in paint.

I mostly use cartoon characters or movie stars for my contacts anyway so I don't mind the faces.
