How to swap a device, which affected by default volume button?

I have 2 devices, digital output and 3.5mm connection, so there is 2 different sound sources.

I need to leave 3.5mm default, and in the same time volume button needs to be in control of a 2nd, digital output.

Can it be done without side-software?
